International trips abroad for students offer incredible opportunities for growth, both personally and professionally. But did you know there is government funding to support the cost of your students’ programme?
If you are planning to travel overseas with a school, college or university group in the UK, you may be eligible for Turing Scheme funding from the UK government. Organisations based in Wales are also eligible to apply for Taith!
Both schemes offer grants for successful applicants, supporting students in the UK to work and study internationally.
Important things to know
- Applications for both funds generally open early in February each year and close six to eight weeks later.
- Deadlines to apply and eligibility criteria for Turing and Taith change annually. Signing up for newsletters from Turing and Taith will help you stay up to date.
- Individuals can’t apply for Taith and Turing Scheme opportunities, the organisation must make the application.
- Grant rates will differ depending on variables such as the duration of your trip, programme, number of students, and the destination you’ll be travelling to. Additional considerations will also be made for students from disadvantaged backgrounds or with additional needs.
