Journalism Internships Abroad

Work on a newspaper, magazine, radio, or TV show on an overseas placement

Projects Abroad Journalism internships are a unique way of honing your journalism skills, building a portfolio and getting international work experience.

Our media internships abroad cover radio, print, digital, and TV journalism. You’ll be working with professional journalists, seeing their day-to-day work and getting to try your hand at new skills. You could be researching and writing stories, helping with the smooth running of the project, or working on distribution.

You’ll also get a better understanding of the cultural and political background of the country you’re interning in.

Michael A

I’m given freedom at work, but also support when I need advice. I work on a variety of things, from the death of Amy Winehouse to the problems of over fishing. It stretches you and keeps you fresh. It has been a real learning experience.

Joanna S

The staff are so welcoming and really put me at ease when I arrived, and throughout my time with them. I made friends from all over the world, established myself in a new culture and had some amazing experiences also.

Natasa B

Professionally, I learnt tips for putting together a news piece, advice such as the ideal numbers and length of sound bites, editing skills, not to mention interviewing techniques.

Sarah W

I made memories and friends that will last me a lifetime and I gained incredibly valuable experience in the journalism field. How many people can say they were published abroad by the time they were 18?
