Week 1 to 4: Vietnam
Your Southeast Asia adventure begins within the bustling capital of Hanoi, where you’ll dive into Vietnamese culture, sampling delicious street food, watching traditional puppet shows, and exploring historical sites like the Temple of Literature. You’ll be taught about the Vietnam War and its enduring impact.
From there, venture into the picturesque mountains of Mai Chau. Live with local minority groups in traditional stilt houses, cycle through emerald rice paddies, and learn age-old crafts. You’ll kayak on serene lakes, hike through lush nature reserves, and experience the warmth of Vietnamese hospitality firsthand.
No trip to Vietnam is complete without cruising the iconic Ha Long Bay. Marvel at limestone karsts rising from turquoise waters, explore hidden caves, and enjoy peaceful nights aboard a traditional junk boat. Travel to Ninh Binh to see Bai Dinh Pagoda and unbelievable scenery.
The journey continues south to the imperial city of Hue and the charming town of Hoi An, where you’ll uncover Vietnam’s rich history and release glowing lanterns on the river. Relax by the beach and discover the Imperial Tombs and Citadels of past Emperors.
Your Vietnamese odyssey culminates with an exciting self-led adventure to Ho Chi Minh City. Put your newfound travel skills to the test as you and your team navigate this dynamic route, choosing your own path through beaches, highlands, and bustling cities — with staff support whenever you need it. Cap off your experience by delving into recent history at the Cu Chi Tunnels and exploring the lush Mekong Delta.
Week 5 to 7: Cambodia
Discover the heart of Cambodia in an immersive journey that will captivate your senses and challenge your perspectives. Begin in the capital, Phnom Penh, where you’ll unravel Cambodia’s complex history through visits to the Royal Palace, the sobering Killing Fields, and the S21 Genocide Museum.
Engage with local activists and artisans to understand the country’s resilience and rich cultural heritage. Immerse yourself in Khmer culture through traditional dance lessons and Khmer boxing classes. Meditate with monks, join a water blessing, and explore working Buddhist monasteries.
Outside the city, you’ll take part in conservation efforts to protect Sun, Moon and Asiatic bears — even getting to put food in the bear’s enclosures! Keep exploring nature with an exhilarating jungle trek in the Kulen Mountains. Learn survival skills, sleep in hammocks under the stars, and connect with nature in its rawest form. In Kratie, you’ll bounce over river rapids as you kayak with Irrawaddy Dolphins and learn about this critically endangered species.
Breeze across the sea to the coastal paradise of Koh Rong. Relax on pristine white sand beaches, snorkel in crystal-clear waters, and witness the magical spectacle of bioluminescent plankton at night. As you travel inland, explore the laid-back charm of Kampot and Kep, cycling through pepper farms and salt fields, and enjoying the region’s famous seafood.
In Siem Reap, you’ll marvel at the awe-inspiring Angkor Archaeological Park. Watch the sunrise at Angkor Wat, and let your inner explorer run wild as you discover hidden temples consumed by the jungle. Explore floating villages on the Tonle Sap Lake and visit various social enterprises across the city.
Week 8 to 10: Thailand
Embark on the final leg of your Southeast Asian odyssey in vibrant Thailand, where ancient traditions seamlessly blend with modern dynamism. Your journey begins in the pulsating heart of Bangkok, where you’ll explore opulent temples, navigate bustling markets, and master the art of Thai cuisine. Dive into the country’s warrior spirit with invigorating Muay Thai classes, gaining a unique insight into Thai culture and discipline.
Venture north to the cultural haven of Chiang Mai, nestled in the misty mountains. Here, you’ll connect with gentle giants at an ethical elephant sanctuary, supporting crucial conservation efforts. Then, find inner peace during a transformative meditation retreat led by Buddhist monks, offering a chance for deep self-reflection amidst serene forest surroundings.
Your Thai experience takes a historical turn as you explore the ancient capital of Ayutthaya before travelling south to the tropical paradise of Koh Tao. Here, you’ll dive into marine conservation efforts, contributing to the preservation of delicate coral ecosystems. Snorkel in crystal-clear waters alongside colourful marine life, and unwind on pristine beaches as you reflect on your transformative journey.

Why Projects Abroad?
With over 30 years of experience connecting people with purpose, we’re no strangers to the transformational power of travel.
We believe for transformation to take place, your experience must be authentic. Likewise, the best experiences unfold where there is a real connection to other people, places, and the planet. And, when done well, travel benefits everyone involved.
Our global network means we have the two things to give you the experience, security, and connection you crave — local experts and local knowledge.
Of course, we know the sights, and you’ll see these. But you’ll be more than a tourist. You’ll be immersed in a local culture and way of life — so you won’t just see the world; you will feel it too.
- Relax, we’ve got this — we handle the planning so you can focus on the fun stuff.
- Budget-friendly — honest pricing means no nasty surprises. Accommodation, activities, meals… all included.
